Meet the team of Northwood Veterinary Hospital! We strive to provide exceptional services for you and your pets.
Dr. Hugh Davis was selected for the inaugural class of Tufts Veterinary in Massachusetts. In his 30 years of practice, he has focused on top quality medicine with a common sense approach that concentrates on the pet and engages the owner. He has worked in rural locations and in Boston, in single and multi-doctor practices, and also emergency medicine. As the owner of NVH, Dr. Davis is happy to bring extensive experience of experience to what he enjoys the most - practicing community-based medicine with ongoing and long-term relationships with his clients.
While Dr. Davis loves all aspects of caring for his patients, he has a special interest in surgery, especially orthopedics. He continues to hone his skills in these areas with continuing education in the latest techniques and procedures.
He lives on a small farm here in Northwood with his wife, Nancy Fantom, owner of Saddleback Pet Services. They have 3 great children, 2 incredibly cute grandsons, and many four-footed friends. Dr. Davis and Nancy love to travel and have been co-leaders of a spay/neuter mission to rural Mexico since 2000.

She enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of not only the animals but their owners. One day, Ashley hopes to earn her certification in Emergency & Critical Care as a technician. When she isn’t caring for patients, Ashley and her husband enjoy going to concerts, paddle boarding, hiking, fishing, and spending time with their son. Her non-human family includes a Persian named Mufasa.
Bree grew up on Long Island, NY but has recently graduated from the University of New Hampshire with her Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science. She just finished applying to veterinary school and hopes to attend in Fall 2019. Her long term goals consist of working in a small animal practice that also accepts wildlife. When not working, she enjoys spending time exploring new places outdoors or snuggling with her cat, Radagast.
Meaghan is a 2015 graduate of UNH with a degree in Animal Science; she is now continuing her education in pursuit of her masters. She loves to travel and has done several international volunteer trips, including one with Dr. Davis and his wife, Nancy, to Mexico for a spay & neuter mission. Meaghan enjoys all types of exercise and her true love is her little dog, Suerte – a Puerto Rican rescue mutt whose favorite things are snuggles and cheese! Meaghan spends most of her time now at NVH doing administrative duties, but you can still occasionally catch her snuggling with pets in exam rooms or hanging out with our rescue cats.

She has a special interest in preventative medicine and critical care and is our pet insurance and technology expert. Rachel enjoys spending time with family and friends and the love of her life- a chihuahua named Chloe. When Rachel’s not hard at work at Northwood Veterinary Hospital you can usually find her up in the Rangeley Lakes region of Maine fly-fishing on the lake or wading in some of New Hampshire’s rivers.
Jenna joined our NVH team as an intern for her veterinary technician program at Great Bay Community College. She did a great job and we asked her to stay! She is in her last year of schooling and plans to be a licensed CVT in the spring. Jenna also attended beauty school and has a hair cutting business on the side; she also works in the kennel at Saddleback. When not at one of her several jobs or school, Jenna enjoys hiking the white mountains and surfing on the coast.
Rileigh found her passion for animals in high school during her various animal science classes. She spent 4 years living in the Florida Keys where she gained a deep love for marine science, especially sharks. While there, Rileigh participated in several shark research and tagging trips. She took her passion to the University of New Hampshire where she is continuing her education. Rileigh is working to get her CVT and bachelors degree in the hopes of continuing on to become a small animal veterinarian. When Rileigh is not working, she enjoys spending time at the lake, cheering on the Red Sox and napping in the hammock with her (perfect) French bulldog puppy, Sig. Rileigh grew up with American bulldogs and also proudly adopted a cat from the hospital, Bernard, who now rules their house from the sofa and keeps everyone in line.
